The Specification Phase

  •  Project Planning

We encourage and ensure direct interaction between Project Manager and client prior to starting
any translation work. Effective communication is imperative between the two to ensure a
successful completion of the project. During this phase, all the project parameters are indicated
and the project key components are specified starting from the Source language, to the Target
    language.

  • Project Language Analysis

By analyzing the source documents tone, style, coding requirements and the appropriate target
audience enables us to be consistent in the usage of terminology and ensures that the
appropriate message remains intact and is conveyed in a logical manner without compromise
throughout the entire document translation process.

  • Project Technical Specifications

Once the scope of the translation project is determined, other translation components such as the
project specific terminology database compilation and conceptual framework requirements are
also specified.   In summation, it is absolutely necessary for our “Project Manager” to fully
understand the client’s goals, objectives, and technical specifications as well as any additional
components such as formatting, deliverables, and deadlines associated with the project.

  • Project Timeline Construction

Once the scale & scope of the translation project is adequately determined, a project completion
timeline for the overall project is established which details the specific requirements of the
project.  At this point, all necessary source files, terminology glossaries, approved lexical and style
guidelines, and technical specifications related to the project received from the client are efficiently
compiled.  This enables the document translation team to assess the most appropriate and
reliable means to achieve the best possible solution for the document translation’s purpose and
effectiveness with regard to the target audience.

  • Project Toolkit Compilation

To effectively accomplish our client’s requirements we utilize the most efficient tools such as
Computer-aided translation (CAT) software, translation memories, and structured quality control
processes which are implemented into the translation project. By identifying the subject field
parameters, the translation project work flow procedures, and the intended use of the translation
localization necessary for the specific project specifications allows for future benefits to our client
from initiation through completion of the project.
